Fruitvale Station follows the true story of Oscar Grant (Michael B. Jordan), a 22- year-old Bay Area resident who was killed by BART police officer Johannes Mehserle at the Oakland, California Fruitvale Bay Area Rapid Transit Station (BART). Forest Whitaker is one of the film’s producers.
